Bison meat (buffalo meat) has a rich, flavorful taste. Being lower in cholesterol and calories yet higher in iron and protein makes bison a perfect beef substitute for the health-conscious, or those on restricted red meat diets. In fact, bison has less cholesterol than chicken with the skin removed or even most fish. Bear Mountain Ranch Bison are Free-Ranging on the ranch.

Studies performed at many major universities, (Cornell, U. of Utah, U. of South Dakota, Penn State, and more) all confirm that Bison meat is very high in essential fatty acids, have an excellent ratio of Omega-3 to Omega-6 acids and contain much more CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) than was known. CLA which is an Omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid, or "good fat" enhances the body's ability to promote a healthy metabolism.

Bear Mountain Ranch Bison are raised here on our ranch. We do not use hormones, steroids, or antibiotics with our Bison. We also do not use pesticides or herbicides on our pastures. We mix our own feed to ensure quality.
